FTSE Canada All Cap Index Adds Curaleaf to Its Ranks

STAMFORD – Curaleaf Holdings Inc. confirmed that it has been added to the FTSE Canada All Cap Index, effective after the close of trading on September 18, 2026. Maintained by FTSE Russell, the index tracks large-, mid-, and small-capitalization companies listed in Canada.

The inclusion is Curaleaf’s second major Canadian benchmark in twelve months. In September 2025, the company became the first U.S.-based Cannabis operator to join the S&P/TSX Composite Index, where it was classified under the Health Care sector – a designation that reflected Cannabis’s dual standing as both a consumer product and, increasingly, a therapeutic category.

“A year ago, we became the first U.S.-based cannabis operator in the S&P/TSX Composite Index. Joining the FTSE Canada All Cap Index now puts Curaleaf in a second major Canadian benchmark,” said Boris Jordan, Curaleaf’s Chairman and CEO. “Every index we join brings our shares in front of a new set of passive and active institutional funds, which means more liquidity, a broader shareholder base, and more investors paying attention to what U.S. cannabis can be.”

The mechanics of index inclusion are worth unpacking. When a company is added to a tracked benchmark, fund managers running passive strategies are required to purchase its shares to replicate the index’s composition. That creates a systematic, rules-based source of buying demand entirely separate from earnings cycles, analyst sentiment, or sector news. For an operator of Curaleaf’s scale, running cultivation facilities, processing labs, and retail dispensaries across the United States, this represents a meaningful structural expansion in its institutional investor base.

The Canadian listing also serves a strategic function. Cannabis remains federally illegal in the United States, leaving U.S. MSOs without access to American exchanges, while the Canadian listing provides a critical bridge to international capital for companies like Curaleaf, which operate vast networks across U.S. states.

Curaleaf now holds positions in both the S&P/TSX Composite and the FTSE Canada All Cap Index – two benchmarks with different fund mandates tracking them. Sitting inside both expands the pool of funds obligated or inclined to hold the stock, and reinforces the company’s standing as a structured, investable asset in the eyes of allocators who treat index membership as a baseline eligibility standard.
