Canna Cabana Takes the Widest Lead Yet in Canadian Cannabis Retail
CALGARY – A Retailer Insights Report compiled by Rebel & Thorn, a media and marketing consultancy, shows Canna Cabana extending its position across Canadian Cannabis retail in Q3 2026. The findings span brand awareness, primary shopping preference, and daily consumer behavior; with the High Tide Inc. banner topping every regional market measured.
Nationally, 36% of Cannabis consumers surveyed recognized the Canna Cabana brand – the highest figure for any retailer in the report and nearly triple the awareness level the company recorded when it introduced its discount club in late 2021. Fire & Flower, the next-ranked retailer in Q3 2026, came in at 25% awareness.
The picture sharpens when looking at where consumers actually spend. Nearly one in four Canadians nationally identified Canna Cabana as the retailer they visit most often – more than double the 11% share of the next-closest chain. A year prior, that figure stood at 17%, making the six-point year-over-year gain one of the more notable jumps in this cycle of the report.
Regional results showed Canna Cabana ranking first in brand awareness across every market included: British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba/Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes. Awareness was highest in Alberta at 55%, where the company operates at more than 90 locations, followed by Ontario at 42%, home to more than 100 stores.
Among daily Cannabis consumers, the most commercially significant segment for any Cannabis retailer, Canna Cabana maintained a firm grip. Among consumers who use Cannabis daily, 27% named it as their most-frequented store, and daily shoppers accounted for 37% of its primary customer base overall.
The data arrives alongside High Tide’s record Q3 2026 financial results. On the company’s recent earnings call, management noted that the average Canna Cabana location generates $2.6 million in annual revenue, roughly 1.8x the peer average of $1.4 million. The Cabana Club loyalty program now counts 2.7 million members, including 186,000 ELITE subscribers who pay C$35 per year.
For the Canadian Cannabis sector, the Rebel & Thorn data points to a market consolidating around brands with strong loyalty infrastructure and disciplined pricing strategy. Canna Cabana has built both: 232 domestic locations, 2.7 million club members, and now – the broadest consumer recognition in the country. How much further that lead extends through the balance of 2026 will be shaped, in part, by how quickly rivals address the gap this report makes plain.
