ACT LAB Enters NJ Cannabis Market with Sriven Labs Acquisition

TRENTON – ACT LAB, a Cannabis and hemp testing and compliance laboratory network, announced its entry into New Jersey through the acquisition of Sriven Labs (SV Labs – NJ), a licensed and ISO-accredited testing laboratory that has served the state’s regulated operators since its founding. The New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission approved the deal.

The transaction extends ACT LAB’s footprint across a network already operating in Illinois, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, Massachusetts, and Tennessee. Over the past year, the company added a second Pennsylvania lab in Harrisburg, relocated its Ohio facility to Columbus, and expanded testing capacity in Illinois – a run of capital investment that reads more as deliberate buildout than incremental growth.

New Jersey’s adult-use market, launched in 2022, has attracted consistent commercial interest and ranks among the more active Cannabis markets in the Northeast. For a testing business predicated on reliable volume, that trajectory matters.

Sriven Labs, certified as a Minority Business Enterprise by New Jersey’s Department of the Treasury, brought an established client base across growers and processors, along with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation – the same quality standard ACT LAB required across all its network locations in 2025. Clients will retain their existing local contacts through the transition while gaining access to ACT LAB’s centralized multistate data portal, which provides operators with testing results and analytical trends across all states where the network operates.

Drawing from extensive collective Cannabis testing expertise across its staff and applying standardized analytical methods uniformly across states, ACT LAB enters New Jersey as the most geographically diversified competitor in its category.

This acquisition reflects a broader structural shift in how the Cannabis supply chain is being built. As operators scale across multiple states, and interstate commerce frameworks inch closer to practical reality, third-party testing infrastructure is becoming a material business consideration rather than a compliance formality. Sriven Labs’ MBE certification adds an equity dimension that should align with New Jersey’s regulatory priorities under the CRC. For ACT LAB, New Jersey is one more state in a sequential build-out spanning much of the eastern U.S., and there is little indication the network has stopped growing.
