Sensi Seeds and Death Row Records Partner to Release Exclusive Strains in U.S.
AMSTERDAM – Sensi Seeds, the Dutch seed bank founded in 1985, has brought its collaboration with Death Row Records to American home cultivators. The move makes selected Cannabis strains available in the United States for the first time through the company’s domestic distribution network.
Five proprietary strains were created under the Sensi Seeds Breeding Grounds program in partnership with Death Row’s head grower, AK. They blend the Amsterdam bank’s four decades of genetic work with genetics favored in California cultivation circles, including lines tied to SFV OG, a longtime favorite of Death Row owner Snoop Dogg. One of the Big Five, a sativa-dominant hybrid that led sales in Europe after the partnership’s initial rollout there last spring, is expected to be the top performer stateside.
The seeds will be sold exclusively via Sensi Seeds’ U.S. channels, which include retail placement at Snoop Dogg’s SWED (Smoke Weed Every Day) stores and, shortly, direct access through online platform. The launch follows the collection’s European debut in spring 2025 and its public introduction at the Mary Jane Berlin trade event, where AK appeared alongside Shaggy, Snoop Dogg’s sound engineer and Cannabis adviser.
Gio Dronkers of Sensi Seeds described the project as a meeting of two organizations that built their reputations on quality and staying power. AK, a California cultivator with 20 years of experience who previously worked on the Rainbow Sherbert line, said the pairing felt natural given his lifelong interests in music and Cannabis. Snoop Dogg endorsed the release directly: “Sensi Seeds and Death Row Records linked up to bring you some real heat.”
The timing aligns with Sensi Seeds’ broader U.S. push, which includes its own American e-commerce site and participation in domestic trade shows. Death Row Records, long a cultural force in West Coast hip-hop, has steadily expanded into Cannabis since Snoop Dogg acquired the label, adding branded flower and now seed genetics to its portfolio.
