Ontario Cannabis Sales Reach CA$166 Million in January, Marking 6% Annual Growth
LOS ANGELES- Ontario’s legal cannabis market commenced 2025 with robust performance, recording sales of CA$166.15 million in January. This figure represents a 6% increase compared to January 2024, indicating sustained consumer demand and market expansion.
The average price per gram of cannabis in Ontario was CA$9.49, with an eighth-ounce averaging CA$24.73. Concentrates were priced at approximately CA$33.51 per gram. Notably, the strain GMO Cookies emerged as the top-selling variety for the month.
In comparison to other Canadian provinces, Ontario maintained its position as the leading market for cannabis sales. Alberta reported sales of CA$73.94 million in January, while British Columbia recorded CA$65.69 million in sales during the same period.
The consistent growth in Ontario’s cannabis market reflects a well-established retail infrastructure and a diverse product offering that continues to attract consumers.
