Barney’s Farm Brings Cannabis Clones to U.S. Growers

WATSONVILLE – Barney’s Farm announced that it has launched its Cannabis clone range for growers across the United States, introducing rooted Cannabis cuttings developed from selected mother plants at its California cultivation facility. The offering expands an operation the company originally entered as a domestic seed business in 2023, when it took what it described as a major step by launching its dedicated U.S. Cannabis seeds operation.

The launch collection spans established strains and newer hybrid varieties. The initial lineup includes Super Boof, Jelly Cake, Permanent Marker, Toad Venom, Cherry Poppers, Lemon Cherry Gelato, and LFG, alongside the more widely cultivated Blue Dream and Skunk #1. Mimosa x Orange Punch is listed as forthcoming.

Every mother plant undergoes testing for hop latent viroid (HLVd) before cuttings are taken. HLVd is a plant pathogen associated with Cannabis cultivation that can cause reduced growth and changes in flower development, though some infections produce no visible symptoms. The pathogen can spread through infected cuttings and contaminated cultivation equipment. Pre-propagation screening is standard protocol in professional nursery operations, and Barney’s Farm has built this step into its production workflow at the California site.

The ordering structure requires a minimum purchase of three clones, and customers can combine available strains within an order, subject to current inventory. The shipping charge is a flat $50 regardless of the number of clones in an order. Orders placed before midnight Eastern Time on Sunday are scheduled for dispatch Monday via UPS Next Day Air. The packaging incorporates a built-in LED lighting system to provide light during transit.

Barney’s Farm indicates that shipping options reflect the locations where live Cannabis plant deliveries are currently permitted, and customers are responsible for understanding the laws governing cannabis possession and cultivation in their jurisdictions before placing an order.

Barney’s Farm’s entry into the U.S. clone segment is structurally notable for a brand that earned its global reputation through seeds. Live-plant shipping introduces logistics, shelf-life, and regulatory complexity that seed programs largely sidestep. It also creates a tier of access that seeds cannot match – genetic certainty at the phenotype level. With a domestic production base in California and a catalog built over four decades of international breeding, the company brings more credibility to this format than most clone-only nurseries can claim from scratch.
