Verano Elevates James Leventis to Chief Strategy & Compliance Officer

LOS ANGELES- Verano Holdings Corp.  Announced the promotion of James Leventis to Chief Strategy and Compliance Officer. Leventis, a licensed attorney with nearly 15 years of experience across the healthcare, pharmaceutical, consulting, and cannabis sectors, has been with Verano since 2019 and most recently served as Executive Vice President of Legal, Regulatory and Government Affairs.

In his new role, Leventis will oversee strategy, regulatory compliance, licensing, and government affairs across Verano’s 13-state footprint, managing 15 production facilities and a wide network of dispensaries under brands including Zen Leaf™, MÜV™, Cabbage Club™, Savvy™, Encore™, and Avexia™. His appointment reflects Verano’s emphasis on reinforcing regulatory governance and strategic alignment as it scales.

Verano CEO George Archos highlighted Leventis’s industry advocacy and experience, stating the new role strengthens the leadership team amid the evolving regulatory landscape. Leventis is also actively involved in cannabis reform efforts, holding positions with the United States Cannabis Roundtable, the American Rights and Reform PAC, and the American Trade Association of Cannabis and Hemp.
