High Tide and [Re] Waste Team Up to Celebrate Earth Day: A Revolutionary Initiative for Sustainable Cannabis Packaging
LOS ANGELES– High Tide Inc. is making waves in the cannabis industry by leading the charge for environmentally responsible packaging solutions. In honor of Earth Day, the company is proudly partnering with [Re] Waste, an Alberta-based business that specializes in recycling hard-to-repurpose materials, to recycle single-use plastics from cannabis packaging.
This unique partnership aims to address the challenge of recycling single-use plastics from cannabis products, which are highly regulated and difficult to recycle within existing municipal programs. To overcome this challenge, High Tide and [Re] Waste have placed collection points in all Canna Cabana retail stores nationwide, allowing Cabana Club members and all cannabis consumers to drop their used cannabis containers into the bins.
Through this revolutionary initiative, the two companies have diverted over 20,000 pounds of plastic from ending up in landfills and littering our communities. High Tide’s commitment to environmental sustainability goes beyond just recycling cannabis packaging. As the largest non-franchised retailer in Canada, the company is taking proactive steps to ensure that plastics can be repurposed and that they don’t end up in landfills.
Raj Grover, President and Chief Executive Officer of High Tide, expressed his pride in the partnership, stating that “High Tide is proud to partner with [Re] Waste, another Alberta-grown business, to divert thousands of units of single-use cannabis plastics from landfills into reusable and functional products.” He emphasized the importance of environmental responsibility and the company’s commitment to thinking innovatively to further environmentally friendly initiatives.
Corey Saban, Founder and CEO of [Re] Waste, echoed this sentiment, saying “[Re] Waste is thrilled to have partnered with High Tide and to have contributed to the diversion of over 20,000 pounds of plastic waste from landfills through our innovative recycling program for cannabis packaging.” He stressed the importance of sustainable solutions for hard-to-recycle materials like cannabis packaging and expressed his pride in being part of High Tide’s commitment to sustainability.
This Earth Day, High Tide and [Re] Waste are leading the charge in creating a more sustainable future for the cannabis industry. As the company expands in Canada and internationally, it will continue to prioritize innovative solutions for environmental sustainability and uphold its responsibility for our planet.
