TALLAHASSEE – Trulieve Cannabis Corp., a major multi-state Cannabis operator, has launched its first dispensary in Cincinnati, marking the company’s 7th location in Ohio and its 238th nationwide.

The facility stocks a range of Trulieve’s in-house brands, focusing on flower, edibles, tinctures, and other formats. This move comes through a partnership with Harvest Grows LLC, an independent Ohio operator, allowing Trulieve to tap into local expertise while expanding its branded footprint.

Ohio’s cannabis sector has grown substantially since recreational sales commenced on August 6, 2024, following voter approval of Issue 2 the prior year. In the first 12 months, adult-use sales reached $702.5 million across more than 9 million transactions, generating $70.2 million in tax revenue at a 10% rate. Combined with medical sales, the state could exceed $1 billion in total cannabis revenue by year’s end, supported by 156 dispensaries as of July 2025. Average revenue per store has climbed from $5.2 million in late 2024 to $5.8 million recently, reflecting steady demand despite initial supply constraints and regulatory adjustments.

Trulieve’s entry into Cincinnati, a key urban hub in Hamilton County, positions the company to capture a share of this expanding market. With existing stores in Beavercreek, Clintonville, German Village, Lorain, Westerville, and Zanesville, Trulieve holds about 4.5% of Ohio’s dispensary count, a foothold that could grow as operators compete for customers in populous areas.

However, the sector faces hurdles like product shortages and black-market competition, which have tempered sales below some projections. Analysts note that while Trulieve’s expansion signals confidence in Ohio’s long-term viability, sustained growth will depend on streamlined regulations and increased cultivation capacity to meet consumer needs.
