SACRAMENTO– The Women’s Canna Awards, produced by Debutante Honors, Inc, a 501(c)(6) professional association, the biggest and most sought-after award show dedicated to highlighting women in the cannabis industry, will be returning for its second year.

This year’s Oscars-style, gala awards show will be held in person on Saturday, November 11th, 2023 at the Sofia Theatre in the heart of Sacramento, California. The red carpet event will crown the best of the best in California craft cannabis and hemp CBD across 20+ categories, while also honoring five individuals with special recognition awards, and will include celebrity judges and special presenters, will have an audience of over 600 guests, and include an exclusive VIP red carpet experience and after party.

The Women’s Canna Awards Show, hosted by Debutante Honors, Inc., has a mission to honor the exemplary work being done by women in the cannabis industry. The Association aims to be known as the organization that focuses on bringing together executives from the traditional wellness lane and female thought-leaders in the cannabis industry. The WCA provides a platform for women to be acknowledged for their hard work, dedication and creativity in this fast-growing and global economy.

The association has selected SavingSophie.org as the official benefactor and fund recipient for the second annual California award show. This year’s event will be honoring California business owners whose leadership is at least 51% women, but the WCA plans to bring the awards show across the globe in coming years.

Manndie Tingler, Founder and President of the WCA says, “The WCA recognizes the importance of creating a competition and event that brings attention to the valuable work women are doing to create a global cannabis economy. It’s imperative we create more opportunities for women cannabis executives to show their stand-out products and business practices to establish a stronger connection between the executives in the nutraceutical, beauty, and cannabis industries. Doing so will help further product research, create more business growth opportunities, and assist with normalizing this versatile plant. Our event is founded in California, but we intend to hopefully bring the WCA around the country and across the globe in the coming months and years.”

This year, product competition categories for the awards are separated into two categories for regulated THC businesses (indoor flower, greenhouse flower, sungrown flower, solventless concentrates, non-solventless concentrates, tinctures, pain relief topicals, skin care topicals, solventless vapes, non-solventless vapes, sweet edibles, savory edibles and beverages) and hemp CBD businesses (tinctures, pain relief topicals, skin care topicals, edibles, and beverages).

Special recognition award categories will include Most Environmentally Conscious Company, Social Impact Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Ally of the Year, and The People’s Choice Award.

This award show and competition take things one step further… The winners of the competition are in for a very special treat. The winner’s packages for this competition includes one-on-one meetings with retail buyers and a suite of executive business products to help elevate the contestants.

Nominations for the 2023 Women’s Canna Awards began on July 5, 2023 and runs through August 5, 2023. The People’s Choice Award will be available to the public to vote via the website for one dollar per vote starting this summer. All proceeds from The People’s Choice Award will go towards raising money for the Saving Sophie Foundation, supporting pediatric cancer and cannabis research.
