Florida Poll Shows Strong Support for Adult-Use Cannabis Legalization
LOS ANGELES- A new poll indicates that Florida’s constitutional amendment for the legalization of adult-use cannabis has garnered support from 64% of voters, surpassing the 60% threshold required for passage, as reported by Florida Politics.
The poll highlights strong backing across age groups, with 100% of respondents aged 18-29 and 82% of voters aged 30-39 supporting the reforms.
Morgan Hill, spokesperson for Smart & Safe Florida, stated, “Floridians want and deserve the same right to consume recreational cannabis that more than half the country already enjoys. This poll reflects what we at Smart & Safe Florida know to be true: legalizing recreational adult-use cannabis is good for Floridians’ health, safety, and individual freedom.”
Smart & Safe Florida is celebrating July as “Freedom Month” by launching a $1.1 million radio ad campaign supporting Amendment 3. The campaign features attorney John Morgan, who led the successful 2016 campaign to legalize medical cannabis.
Despite opposition from Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, whose political action committee had raised only $10,000 by the end of last month, support for the amendment remains robust. A FOX News poll published last month found even higher support, with 66% in favor and 32% opposed.
