LOS ANGELES – A recent survey commissioned by XRPure has uncovered a strong consumer push for cleaner, safer Cannabis products. Conducted among 516 adults, the survey found that an overwhelming 91.7% believe medical Cannabis should be decontaminated to eliminate harmful contaminants like mold, bacteria, and pesticides. Additionally, 90.5% of respondents emphasized that decontaminated Cannabis should be clearly labeled, reflecting a growing demand for transparency in the industry.

The survey also highlighted a significant knowledge gap: 73.6% of participants admitted they do not understand the methods used to decontaminate Cannabis. Common techniques include X-ray technology, employed by XRPure to neutralize microbial DNA without altering the plant’s integrity, as well as radio frequency (RF) and ozone-based methods. Unlike traditional chemical or heat-based approaches, X-ray decontamination is a cold process that preserves the Cannabis flower’s potency, terpenes, and moisture levels, ensuring safety without compromising quality.

“This survey reflects a clear consumer mandate for safer Cannabis and better education,” said Jeff Adams, Founder and Managing Director of XRPure. “Labeling is just the start—we need to bridge the gap in understanding how decontamination works to build trust in the industry.”

The findings come at a critical time as Cannabis use surges, with 17.7 million Americans reporting daily or near-daily use in 2022, surpassing daily alcohol consumption. Contaminants like pesticides and microbial pathogens pose significant risks, particularly for medical users and immunocompromised patients, underscoring the urgency for standardized safety protocols.
