Arkansas Medical Cannabis Sales Are Expected to Break Previous Record
LITTLE ROCK – Dispensaries in Arkansas have recorded $193.1 million in medical Cannabis sales from January through August, according to data from the state Department of Finance and Administration. This figure positions the market to exceed the $283 million total achieved in 2023, which stands as the current annual record.
Sales have averaged around $800,000 per day this year, a pace that reflects steady growth in patient demand. Compared to the same period last year, revenue has increased by 6 percent, signaling continued expansion in the state’s medical marijuana program. Since the first dispensary opened in 2019, cumulative sales have approached $1.5 billion, with tax collections contributing significantly to state coffers.
State officials note that the revenue supports public health initiatives and other government services. For instance, tax proceeds from July and August alone topped $5.3 million, pushing the YTD total to $21.5 million. With 38 licensed dispensaries operating across Arkansas, the market serves a growing number of certified patients, now exceeding 110,000.
These numbers highlight a resilient sector that delivers consistent economic benefits, even without broader policy shifts. If trends hold, 2025 could mark a key milestone for Arkansas Cannabis, underscoring the value of regulated access in meeting health needs while generating reliable public funds.
