A LIFE IN A DAY: Clayton Smith: CEO: AULV Health
NEW YORK- A LIFE IN A DAY offers viewers another look at well-known people who are in various areas of the industry. We can see from their LinkedIn profile what they do for work, but what do they think about during the day? What occupies their time? What do they feel? This is about their wider life. Let’s take a peek behind the curtain. In this edition of A LIFE IN A DAY, we catch up with Clayton Smith, a farm-raised businessman seeking to unite the Cannabis industry around a simple premise: natural “Medicine for Mom.”
Clayton is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AULV (All Love) Health, leading the U.S. rollout of their PLNT PWRD™ platform and associated partnerships, including a full-botanical product line designed for seniors. His work sits at the intersection of product, science, and distribution—bringing together stakeholders that historically have not operated in alignment.
His journey, like many in this industry, is rooted in personal experience. After witnessing a loved one battle cancer and the limitations of traditional treatment pathways, Clayton set out to build something different—grounded in nature, dignity, and better outcomes. That experience created a lasting conviction around prevention, whole-plant therapies, and access.
Through AULV, he is assembling a coalition of scientists, clinical researchers, and innovators working to advance botanical medicine and improve patient outcomes. The broader mission is to create a framework that enables safer, more effective plant-based therapies to reach patients through both dispensary and traditional medical channels, while establishing standards regulators and practitioners can trust.
“We feel honored to stand on the shoulders of giants—those growers and scientists who advanced this work under real risk. We want to create a world where nutrition and whole plant medicine are the first treatment options.” -Clayton Smith CEO AULV Health

A LIFE IN A DAY: Clayton Smith
My Morning Routine
I am blessed to enjoy mornings at home with my wife and three boys. My day starts with breathwork, stretching, and getting into a rhythm—smoothie, breakfast prep, packing lunches, water bottles—the usual chaos of a full house.
That routine creates structure and consistency. It’s a grounding period before the pace picks up, and something I rely on to stay centered.
We all sit down together for breakfast and read a daily devotional. That moment sets the tone—grounded, present, intentional. It creates a baseline that carries through the rest of the day.
After that, I head out for a workout—yoga or the gym—before locking in mentally to my AULV calendar, emails, and priorities.

Where Do You Wake Up?
We split our time between Oregon and Alabama. We didn’t know much about the South before 2020, but it’s been an incredible place to raise our kids.
There’s a different pace and mindset. People are present, there’s a strong sense of community, and values show up in everyday interactions.
It feels like a different time—kids outside, strong manners, helping out as part of daily life. There’s a simplicity in the culture that stands out.
First Thing You Do Each Day?
Our youngest still sleeps with us, so mornings usually start with him jumping on my back and riding into the kitchen.
That moment alone is worth everything—it’s fleeting, and I’m very aware of that. It’s a reminder to stay present.
Breakfast is simple—smoothie, yogurt with granola, or a lemon mineral drink. Clean, light, and consistent.
What Do You Read?
I lean toward scientific journals, especially the Journal of Cannabis Research and similar publications focused on clinical evidence.
There’s a growing body of research showing that Cannabis contains hundreds of medicinal compounds that work more effectively together than in isolation. That concept of synergy is central to what we are building at AULV.
Staying close to the data ensures we are not just operating on belief, but on evidence that can be clearly communicated to partners and regulators.

How Do You Plan Your Day?
Gratitude and purpose drive everything. I plan my day around where I can create the most value for others.
That often means prioritizing people—patients, partners, and team members—over tasks.
AULV is built with aligned partners in the U.S. and Australia, all focused on advancing plant medicine and supporting patients. That alignment allows us to move with clarity and intention.
Do You Find Time Exercise?
Movement is essential. A body in motion stays in motion—and the same applies to the mind.
I don’t try to overthink during exercise or meditation. It’s a release. That’s where clarity and alignment come from.
As a family, we stay active—tennis, pickleball, biking, hiking. Being outdoors is key, both physically and mentally.
What Do You Wear?
I respect the structure of corporate past, but I’m most comfortable in casual or athletic wear.
There’s authenticity in showing up as yourself, especially in an industry still defining its identity.
Natural fabrics like hemp, bamboo, or linen align with how I live day to day and with what we are building.
What is Lunch & Afternoon Like?
Lunch is usually a late breakfast—often eggs from pasture-raised chickens.
Keeping meals simple allows focus to stay on the work while maintaining discipline around health.
Afternoons are spent coordinating with partners, especially in Australia as their day begins, alongside U.S. business development. That global rhythm creates a natural flow.
I break up the day with movement—throwing a ball or spending time with my kids—before heading into dinner. That reset helps maintain energy and perspective.
What Are Your Perspective on Work?
This work aligns with my purpose.
The path here came through personal challenges and a search for better healing solutions. That experience reshaped how I think about health, medicine, and responsibility.
Plant medicine became a natural extension of that journey.
Now it’s about helping others access those same solutions in a structured, repeatable, and accessible way.
What’s Your Evening Routine?
I work remotely and travel as needed. I’m productive at home but also like working from coffee shops or shared spaces.
Changing environments unlocks different types of thinking and keeps the work from becoming static.
Long term, the vision is to build a healing sanctuary where our team can live and work together—integrated, intentional, and aligned with the mission.
Do You Consume?
I consume Cannabis medicinally—for pain management and sleep. That journey influenced AULV Health’s focus on full-botanical formulations designed to preserve the plant’s complexity.
The goal is to stay as close to nature as possible while delivering consistency and reliability.
What’s Bedtime Like?
Evenings are about being present with my kids—reading, asking what they learned, reminding them they’re loved. Those small conversations reinforce what matters most.
Routine matters, but so does flexibility. Progress over perfection. As I drift off to sleep I try to remember it’s progress over perfection, and remember to be always grounded in gratitude.
