LeafLink Acquires Leaf Trade to Enhance Cannabis Wholesale Platform
LOS ANGELES- LeafLink, a cannabis wholesale platform, has acquired Leaf Trade, a wholesale marketplace serving multi-state operators (MSOs) and enterprise cannabis companies. This strategic move aims to streamline operations for cannabis businesses of varying scales.
The combined entity is projected to facilitate approximately $9 billion in annual gross merchandise value (GMV). Initially, both platforms will continue to operate independently, with plans for a comprehensive integration to be developed.
Artie Minson, President and CEO of LeafLink, emphasized the company’s mission to assist the regulated cannabis industry in achieving its full potential by providing integrated technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and financial performance.
Brian Ward, CEO of Leaf Trade, highlighted the benefits of the acquisition for customers, noting that unifying the strengths of both companies will lead to innovative solutions that drive growth and value across the supply chain.
This acquisition follows LeafLink’s recent expansion of its product portfolio, including the introduction of Payment on Sell-Through, a fintech tool designed to address delinquent payments, and the acquisition of Dama Financial to enhance access to compliant banking services for cannabis operators. The integration of Leaf Trade’s capabilities is expected to further strengthen LeafLink’s position in the cannabis wholesale market, providing a more comprehensive suite of services to its clients.
